Paying off the mortgage. That's what our parents do, right? When they are in their 50s or 60s? Maybe some of you have parents who still have a mortgage. I clearly remember watching a M*A*S*H re-run where Colonel Potter celebrates the burning of his mortgage note because he has, at long last, finished paying it off. He even cries as he does it. (I can't believe I actually found an image of this scene!)
As much as I loved Colonel Potter's character, something rubbed me wrong about being his age and still having a mortgage. I think the writers of the show knew that would really resonate with viewers because of course EVERYONE has a mortgage. Right?
Wrong. I don't have a mortgage. And I own a home. And I'm in my 30s. My early 30s.
Paying off our mortgage early, and I mean EARLY, has revolutionized our life. It has truly changed how we think about the present and the future. We are pursuing dreams we never thought financially feasible (my husband is getting a PhD). We dare to dream bigger and better. Instead of saying "If only...." we are now saying "Why not?"
I don't want you to have a mortgage. I want you to experience the same financial freedom we have. So about six months ago, I decided to put everything I know about how my husband and I paid off our mortgage before we were 30 into an ebook. I am thrilled to say that ebook is finally - FINALLY! - ready.
It's called Mortgage Free! in 3.
Mortgage Free! in 3 is not for the faint of heart. If you aren’t ready to be challenged to totally transform your life for three years, so that you can transform the rest of your life, don’t buy this book. Seriously. I don't want you to waste your money.
How do you know if you should buy this book? Just see if any of the reasons below apply to you.
- You are fed up with the thought of always owing money and making payments.
- You want to retire before you are tired and old.
- You want to enjoy life to the fullest and need money to do so.
- You don’t want to worry about money any more.
- You want to be financially independent before your kids are grown, or your parents retire, or before you get married or __________.
- You want to be free to pursue your interests but are too practical (like me) to leap before you look.
My husband and I paid off our house 19 months after we bought it and 14 months after we decided we wanted to pay it off as soon as possible. That was the best thing we have done together so far, after marrying each other and having kids. It has changed our life forever.
Before we paid off our mortgage, we didn’t exactly worry about money, but we weren’t exactly not worried either. (We don’t worry now.)
We didn’t feel free to pursue dreams or careers that really inspired us. (We have both pursued exactly what we want to do… for now. And if what we want to do changes, we can probably pursue that too.)
We felt like we would be trapped in grinding careers until we hit 65 when we could afford to retire. Now we choose to work knowing that one of us, and perhaps both of us, can “retire” at any time.
Mortgage Free! in 3 is not a super-secret “system”. It’s not a gimmick. It’s practical. It’s hard-core. It’s all about showing you simple steps to removing one of the biggest expenses from your budget – paying for a roof over your head.
I will walk you through, step-by-step, the cost of keeping a mortgage, what life can look like without a mortgage, how to plan for home purchase, what to do if you already own a home, and how to go beyond planning and actually do the work of paying off your mortgage early.
Are you ready to buy this book? Are you ready to spend less than $10 to change your life forever? If so, you will receive not only the ebook, but an additional $39 in resources at no extra charge to help you budget and keep track of your mortgage payoff date.
